Genie Bags

I made some genie giftbags this weekend to put the balls, calendars and what not in.

The big piece of cardstock is 5 1/2" x 5 1/2", the white piece is 3" x 3". I used scraps from the accent color to place behind the white piece. The back of the bag, I just used a snowflake stamp and my versamark ink pad and then sprinkled dazzling diamonds to make them glittery. I also used dazzling diamonds on the white parts of the snowman. The brown bag is just a lunch bag cut in half. I used a glue stick to stick the cardstock to the bag.

After I fill the bags with tissue paper and goodies, I'll attach a ribbon for a handle.

Harley Gift Set

I made these with leftover Harley stuff from a scrap book kit bought at Hobby Lobby. I bought the kit a couple of years ago and made a picture page and framed it for my Dad for his birthday. I used pictures of me, Ayla and my sister on my Dad's Harley with him. I'm glad I kept the leftovers. These turned out very nice; the gifts are a can of cashews, calendar and ornament.

Book Thongs

This blog may end up being mostly stampin' stuff, but I also do some other crafts.

Here's some book thongs I made last night.

Twine is cut 14", then knotted so there's 9" in between knots. I added beads and charms and used crimp beads on the ends.

Some book thong poems-

When you need to mark a book,

And go along your way,

This lovely little book thong,

Will hold your spot all day.

Just read until you've finished,

And what do you suppose,

Open up that book real wide,

And in the crack it goes! ~author unknown~

What is a book thong? Take a look. A fashion accessory For your favorite book.

Just slip over the pages, Along the spine. You will find your place Every time. ~author unknown~

This little thong will mark your spot, in your book not your butt. Much more comfy yes indeed than the ones that cut you, guaranteed.

Tear Off Calendars

Tear off Calendars

Back piece is 4" x 6", white card stock with stamped image is 2 1/2" by 2 1/2", cordinating color is 3" x 3", small saying piece is 1 1/4" x 1".

Images were colored with water crayons and blending pens. Calendar pages were found on Splitcoast, it's an Excel spreadsheet; so I should be able to update myself going forward. http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=195356&highlight=tear+off+calendar

To attach tear off calendar pages, use small hole punch and punch thru all calendar pages. Lay on back piece and use a pencil to mark where holes should be. Punch those holes and using brads, attach calendar pages. I also attached a magnet strip to the back so they can be hung on a refrigerator or locker.

Ayla made some to match the bookmarks she already made for her friends. (the pink cow one is for herself)

Big Ornament Balls & Gift Card Holders

Ornaments and gift card holders

A couple of the bigger ball ornaments with rolled paper. Rolled paper is cut 1/2" x 3" out of 12x12 scrapbook paper.

Gift card holder is 5 1/2" x 4 1/4", then scored at 1 3/4" and 4 1/4". Fold in and tape shut. Inner part is 4 1/4" x 2 3/8", I used my tab punch on each end so gift card fits in between tabs. To make holder, insert inner part into folded piece. With small hole punch, punch a hole in one end thru all pieces. Take out insert and turn around so bottom (with hole) lines up with the top portion of outer piece. Thread thru ribbon or cord, push inner piece down into outer piece. Cut off cord and tie. Now when you pull on the cord the inner portion pulls out and you can attach your gift card.

Normally I stamp and decorate the gift card holders more, but these are just made with scrapbook paper to match the ornaments.

2007 Christmas Cards

Naughty or Nice, Tis the Season

Naughty or nice-
Bashful Blue cardstock
Real Red cardstock 3 3/4" x 3 1/2"
White cardstock 3 1/4" x 3"

Stamped Santa on the white, colored him in with water crayons and blender pens. Used Dazzling Diamons on the white parts to bring them out more. Stamped the snowflakes from same set on the the blue with Bashful Blue ink. Saying is stamped in Real Red.

Tis the Season-
Real Green cardstock
Merry & Bright stamp set
Real Red cardstock ?
White cardstock ?

I stamped the reindeer, snowman and tree on white and used the 1 3/8 circle punch to make the ornaments. Brushed on Bashful Blue on edges to make them stand out more. Colored in with water pencils. Attached red pretty that I found at the craft store. The branch is from Peaceful Wishes stamp set, (borrowed from Brianna) and the 'tis the season is from Naughty or Nice set. I stamped the branches in Handsome Hunter.

I'll have to edit in cardstock measurements tonight, Kim cut it for me and not sure what size it is.

Bookmarks!

Ayla made these bookmarks for her teachers and her friends. The ones on the left are for the teachers, she picked their favorite colors and we added ribbon. The calendar template is from Splitcoast, it originally prints quite big. I found it is a perfect size if you use "scale" in Word and say you're printing on A5 paper. The white calendar part is 1 3/4" by 5 1/2", we wanted a 1/4" border of accent color around so cut that paper 2 1/4" by 6". For her friends cards she stamped some pretty designs on the front and back, with a friend saying at the bottom in the back. Using letter stamps she also stamped their names down the back. They turned out really nice.

These are the bookmarks I've worked on. The small ones on the right are just cute little magnetic bookmarks. Paper is cut 4" by 2" folded in half. The ones on the left were a total fluke. Amy wanted to make longer ones, Holiday ones... so we did. Then she didn't like them. I got the idea to add them to a Holiday card. I think they turned out very nice, I can't wait to show her. The same stamped image on the bookmark is also under the bookmark on the card.

I found a bookmark poem on Splitcoast to use with these, I'll add that when I find it. See why I wanted this blog? I have stacks of printouts of ideas, I need them organized better!

Crap! I've looked all day on there and can't find the one I liked. I'll have to go thru my mountain on printouts. I did find these poems though...

Reading is a pleasure, finding time is a treasure. In keeping with life's hectic pace, here is a gift to hold your place!

Mini Rolled Paper Ornaments

Using the small clear glass balls, I rolled up scrap pieces of holiday card stock and stuffed in ball. They turned out very cute.

Paper was cut 1/2 inch by 3 inches, rolled around sucker stick.

Welcome

This blog is for me to post pics and directions for all my many craft projects and some that I hope to try some day.
