Card Making Kit

I made a few of these for friends that also make cards. On both front and back covers, I used a sketch and color combo from inside the book and labeled them. Pages inside are two card sketches per page and the last 8 pages are color combo suggestions.

Rings

Easy and quick. Think I'll get some gold wire while I'm out today to make some gold toned ones. Also need a pink bead to make Grandma C a ring with. These are all adjustable, which is what is asked for the most with my family. They all have arthiritis in their fingers and have a hard time getting regular rings on and off.

Snowman Soup

This year's snowman soup comes with a cute little hedgehog magnetic bookmark. I love these little guys! Big thanks to Vicki over at Splitcoast for sending them to me, my two Walmarts ran out of this stamp as soon as they were put out.

Original Snowman Soup poem:

If winter weather is making you droop,Here's the perfect trick!Add hot water to chocolate dust,And stir with a magic stick.Throw in a kiss to give it flair,And top with snowy goop.Make a wish and take a sip...Tah-dah! Snowman Soup!
I added for this year...
Best enjoyed with a good book,Need to mark your spot?Let the two Hedgehogs do their work.

Sourcream Gift Containers

OMH! Are these easy to make! And soooo cute and versatile. I made a sample one today, I'm planning on making a bunch at the craft day next Sunday at Jill's.

Yep inside this one is the bracelet and earring set that I made for Mom. shhhhhhh don't tell her. LOL

Hi Mom! I decided I couldn't just hand back your bracelet fixed, so I wrapped it up for you.

Template is on Splitcoast here, http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/sour_cream_container/

2009 Calendar Bookmarks

Here's some of this year's calendar bookmarks. I don't remember who I got the idea from to use the seasons stamps, but I sure wish I could so I could thank them. They turned out so pretty.

Homemade Lotion

Thanks to Denise on Splitcoast I made some homemade lotion and stole some of DBF's containers to put it in. Course I had to make the containers pretty. LOL

Denise's Lotion Recipe

15 ounce vaseline

16 ounce vitamin e cream

"2" 16 ounce baby lotion

Mix all this together with hand mixer in METAL bowl.(it will look like thick cake frosting)Then spoon into jars with a METAL spoon(note: don't use anything plastic or your stuff may taste like lotion)

2009 Tear-off Calendars

Here's this year's calendars, I made 2 of each image.

More glass ball ornaments

The tree, wreath and joy are from clear stamps bought at JoAnns. The reindeer and tree are from SU- Merry and Bright. Images stamped on with Stazon and colored in with Sharpies and Zig gold/silver pens. The circles for these ornaments are cut with the Coluzzle, third circle in from center.

Snowman Glass Ball Ornaments

Circle is cut with Colluzzle, third cirle in from outside (then trimmed slighty to fit balls). I leave a tag on top of the circle so I can insert the paper in the ball.

Snowman is stamped on the clear paper with StazOn and then colored in with Sharpies. I tried to color in his body and face with Versamark and glitter. It didn't stick. :(

But they still turned out cute.

Bracelet and matching earrings

The red bracelet is my Mom's favorite bracelet that I made for her and she had to have me fix. She said that she and my Aunt would like bracelets and matching earrings for Christmas. I've never done earrings before so had to do some experimenting.

I need to find a better way to do the crimp beads, Mom is too hard on them. *grin*

Some Manly Cards

And be sure to say "manly" in a rough gruff voice. *grin*

This week's sketch challenge used a skinny panel again. Another nice one, but my cards are a little plain. Course I didn't add a sentiment yet, once I need a manly card then I will and I'm sure that'll dress it up a little more.

Stamps-

  • Sensational Scenery

Cardstock-

SC168 Scallops!

Finally got my scallop punch! Had to use it on this card, also finally used the design paper I've had forever.

Stamps-

  • So Many Scallops
  • Everyday Flexible Phrases

Cardstock-

  • Very Vanilla
  • DP Spring Flowers

Ink-

  • Cameo Coral

I used my new TH design ruler to paper pierce around the pieces of DP and then with a white gel pen made faux stitches. The scallop punched flower is on a piece of mounting adhesive so it pops off the card. The thanks was punched with the word window punch, then the ticket corner punch.

SC167, CC157 Heartfelt Easter

I really liked the card sketch this week. Also had a lot of fun scoring edges with my new Scor-pal.

Stamps-

  • Heartfelt Thanks
  • All Holidays

Cardstock-

  • Basic Black
  • Basic Gray
  • Rose Red

Ink-

  • Rose Red

Scored around the gray panels so they look like a frame, also scored the bottom on the front of the card. Used SU distressing tool on the circle and then edge flicked rose red on it. I cut the circle out using my CM cutting system. The flower outline was stamped with rose red and then used water color crayons and blender pens to color in.

SC166, CC156 Hoppy Easter

Made a couple of Easter cards, they're the same so only took one picture.

Stamps-
  • Tags & More

  • Tag Time

Cardstock-

  • Whisper White

  • Rose Red

  • So Saffron

Ink-

  • Glorious Green

  • Rose Red

  • So Saffron

I cuttlebug embossed the So Saffron panel. To help the image panel pop off the egg panel, I edged it with Rose Red. The Glorious Green ribbon is secured on the card by using my button hole punch and tying the ribbon on.

I just noticed that you can't tell that the green egg with the bunnies is mounted on a little piece of pop up foam. It looks neater in person.

Hawaii Scrapbook Pics

I scrapbooked our pictures from Hawaii. This is my first attempt at really scrapbooking. I didn't do any matting of pictures and really stuck to simple embellishments. They're in our book just like I loaded them up here.

Journaling! I need to get all caught up on scrapbooking so when I do pages what needs to be journaled is still fresh in my mind. I could have done a lot more journaling on these pages... but I couldn't remember where half of the pictures were even taken from! *hangs head*

TLC156, Easter Envelope Pouch

The new technique for this week, was a really cute envelope pouch. I just had to try it. Take an envelope and seal it. Using the large tag punch, punch one side (putting punch up envelope as far as it will go) right along side. Move punch down and punch out end. Turn envelope and do the same on that side. Trim off the small triangle that is left by tag punch. This makes the pouch handle.

All Done Unmounting

Whew! That was work, but I think it'll be soooo worth it. Space wise and maybe even creative wise.

My SU stamps had been stored in these two big tubs, each set was in it's clamshell it came in and they were all just stacked in the tubs.

Now all my stamps have been unmounted from their wooden blocks, applied a small amount of tack over and over glue and are now in these two 3-ring binders.

For each set, I stamped the image on a piece of white cardstock and slid that in to a plastic page on the left. On the right hand side, I attached the tacky stamp to the plastic page.

I also bought some baseball card pages and other size pocket pages to store my Cuttlebug embossing folders and diecuts.

Phil is going to put up a shelf in the extra bedroom and I'm going to put my binders and Cuttlebug up there. *grin* Up out of the way.

Grocery List

I need to tweak the list template in excel and then I'll post it for anyone to use.

Stamps-

  • Loads of Love

Cardstock-

  • Close to Cocoa
  • Not Quite Navy

Ink-

  • Basic Black

The grocery list on the front is my normal staples, I stamped lines on the back using a journaling stamp so I can add specfic things for any new recipes. I have a magnetic pen already on the fridge, so didn't add a pen to this one. But you could add one using a brad and twine. (which I will probably do when making these as a gift)
